Leigh Dodds 500 Games

No doubt one of the major highlights of next Saturday Back to Lapstone Day the day will be at 1200 noon when tough as teak forward Leigh Dodds runs onto the hallowed turf, in the double blue jumper for an amazing 500th time.The talented tight head prop/hooker has played every season since his debut 29 years ago, including 130 games in the top grade,he has won 4 premierships,coached for over 10 seasons including a premiership,has put in over a decade of  service on the committee,and is proud of his record of a total of 23 end of season trips,a real clubman through and through. Leigh has had a mountain of memories from Rugby,and made many life long  friends,right from his first scrum partners in Andrew Adamson,Rick “Stinger” Obrien,and Steve Coles, through to those he will play with Saturday.Over those countless Saturday afternoons of Rugby all over Sydney he has had the pleasure of have seen, and played with, some greats of the club like Gary Applebee,Dave Twomey,George Ftynogiannis,and Peter Fox,while he also acknowledges the influence of the likes of John Pinson,Chris Moloney,Chris Dandridge,Ben Bifield,Owen Sargeant,and Tony Pollinger have  played in his stella career.
