Round 2 Balmain 4.5.2019

Stunning results at Leichhardt Oval number 2 as the Blueys recorded one of the most successful days in then clubs history, with the icing on the cake being the first grade teams biggest ever Kentwell Cup win crushing Balmain 66-7.As the scoreline indicates the game was always ours, particularly when we played to structure, the forwards were awesome, and there was no "foot off the throat" mentality out on the paddock.Young gun Jaiden Cranfield was outstanding, playing with a level of passion and ability which the home team had no answer for, while Joel Togo and Pinno of course were in everything.A great win,and now for the challenge of taking on the premiers Petersham saturday, this should be a real test of where we are,but whatever happens in 2019,the day against Balmain will be impossible to forget.

Seconds were also brutal blitzing Balmain 59-0.Following on from last week the Blueys played positive and steady Rugby with plenty of good structure, and were rewarded for their efforts.Front rower Gareth Mathews was inspirational up front and showed some awesome form in the tight stuff all over the paddock and was a worthy winner of man of the match and players player honours, while the man who loves the ball in hand Emasi got a hat trick, and the golden boot of JD kicked one from the sideline.

Colts went to the top of the table with a forfiet win, while thirds are still undefeated after a Bully inspired 28-5 win.Bully and Will played the house down playing some brilliant Rugby, the backs looked dangerous all day with Lachie guiding them around with class, and of course BJ chimesd in with a double.

Fours kick started Balmains day of misery with a strong 38-7 win, playing some great footy and looking the goods from start to finish.Centre Solomona Silipa was class above anything the opposition and created havoc anytime he was near the ball, hooker Andrew Key was another who impressed, while Grant Skinner continues to impress at fullback.

Fifths went down to Collegues 14-0 but put up a great showing.Rowan Sargeant was a stand out and looks like he has adjusted brilliantly to his new career on the side of the scrum, meanwhile Corey Blacklock,Dan Wright,Dylan Frank and Jason Rikk also went well, while Showbags showed some exceptional kicking skills.
